Phunware, Inc. (NASDAQ:PHUN) announced the appointment of Jeremy Krol, its current Interim Chief Executive Officer, to its Board of Directors, effective October 16, 2025.

The appointment fills a vacancy created by the termination of Stephen Chen as Interim Chief Executive Officer and director on July 17, 2025. Mr. Krol, age 48, will serve as a Class I director until the company's 2025 annual meeting of stockholders. He initially joined Phunware in January 2025 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer in July 2025. Prior to his roles at Phunware, Mr. Krol provided consulting services to the company as a sub-contractor to Switch Advisory Group starting in June 2024. From 2019 to 2024, he served as a startup advisor for Platform Calgary. As an employee-director, Mr. Krol will not receive additional compensation for his duties as a member of the Board. Quyen Du, Board Director and Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, stated that Mr. Krol's "strategic insight and deep familiarity with our business and operations remains invaluable in the steer of Phunware, especially as we continue to finesse and execute on our growth plans."
