Bhutan's unemployment rate fell to 2.9% in Q2 2025, down from 3.6% in Q1 2025. This is the lowest rate since Q4 2019. The services sector, especially tourism, showed strong performance. Government investments in hydropower and construction also increased job creation. The Royal Government of Bhutan's focus on private sector development contributed to this trend. Bhutan's record low unemployment rate was 2.1% in Q4 2016 and record high was 5.9% in Q4 2022.
