Coal

Coal rose by 0.48% on Thursday October 23, trading at $104.2 per metric ton with a weekly loss of 0.38% and monthly gain of 0.58%. Extreme weather conditions increased global energy demand particularly in China and India, leading to higher coal consumption for power generation. Mine inspections in China, intended to reduce oversupply, are impacting coal prices. The ongoing reliance on coal for baseload power, alongside a slower pace of renewable energy deployment, continues to support coal demand and influence pricing. Its 52-week high was $123 per metric ton, while its 52-week low was $88.75 per metric ton.
