Congo - Kinshasa Interest Rate
The Democratic Republic of Congo's central bank reduced its main interest rate to 17.5% in October 2025 from 25% in August 2025. This move follows moderating inflation which fell to 8.93% year-on-year by early June 2025, down from 21.43% a year earlier. The central bank expects further inflation reduction towards a 7% medium-term target. It also anticipates exchange rate stabilization and strong economic growth. This policy shift reflects improved macroeconomic stability since the second half of 2024. Congo - Kinshasa's record low interest rate was 2% in September 2015 and record high was 25% in August 2023.
