Cyprus Unemployment Rate

Cyprus unemployment rate increased to 5.1% in August 2025 from 5% in July 2025. This is the highest rate since April 2024. Cyprus unemployment rate averaged 7.9% from 2015 to 2025. Cyprus's record low unemployment rate was 4.5% in February 2025 and record high was 14.2% in September 2015.

The Cyprus unemployment rate represents the share of the active workforce without a job but seeking employment. Eurostat calculates this by dividing the count of unemployed individuals by the total labor force which includes both employed and unemployed people, then expressing the result as a percentage.
