Nepal Annual Imports

Nepal's imports fell to $13.74 billion in 2022, down from $15.83 billion in 2021, according to the UN Comtrade Database. This represents a decrease of 13.2% ($2.09 billion) from the previous year. Top imports for Nepal were Mineral fuels, oils, waxes, bitumen ($3.16 billion), Iron and steel ($1.12 billion), Machinery, mechanical appliances and reactors ($951.64 million). Nepal's top three import partners in 2022 were India (63.2%), China (13.5%), and Indonesia (2.6%), together accounting for 79.3% of total imports.

Nepal's trade deficit narrowed to $12.44 billion in 2022 from $14.16 billion in 2021. This shows a decrease of 12.1% ($1.72 billion).
