Kenya Imports
Kenya's imports rose to 252.5 KES Billion in July 2025, marking the highest level since November 2023. This represents a 10.8% increase from June 2025's 227.99 KES Billion. The surge was driven by increased spending on industrial machinery, iron and steel and road motor vehicles in Q2 2025. New regulations requiring a Certificate of Origin for all imports, effective July 2025, may have encouraged importers to expedite shipments. A July 2025 rule restricting used car imports to those manufactured from July 2018 onwards also influenced vehicle imports. Kenya's record low imports was 100.46 KES Billion in February 2016 and record high was 259.11 KES Billion in November 2023.
