Latvia Unemployment Rate
Latvia's unemployment rate fell to 6.7% in the second quarter of 2025. This is the lowest rate in three quarters, down from 7.4% in the first quarter of 2025. The employment rate rose to 64.9% in Q2 2025, an increase of 1.7 percentage points quarter-on-quarter. Vacant jobs numbered 20.1 thousand in Q2 2025, down 15.9% year-on-year. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 5.8 thousand quarter-on-quarter. Latvia's record low unemployment rate was 6% in Q3 2019 and record high was 10.3% in Q1 2016.

The Latvia unemployment rate shows the share of the labor force actively seeking work but without jobs. Calculated by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia, it divides the count of unemployed individuals by the total labor force (employed plus unemployed) and multiplies by 100.
