Angola Unemployment Rate

Angola's unemployment rate fell to 28.8% in Q2 2025 from 29.4% in Q1 2025. This is the lowest rate since Q2 2019. Job gains in services, non-oil industry and agriculture drove this decrease. These sectors offset a contraction in the oil sector. The non-oil sector grew by 3.6% in Q2 2025. Overall GDP growth slowed to 2.3% in the first half of 2025 due to lower oil production. Angola's record low unemployment rate was 19.9% in Q4 2016 and record high was 34.1% in Q3 2021.

Angola Unemployment Rate : Definition
Angola's unemployment rate represents the percentage of the labor force aged 15 and older actively seeking employment but not finding work. The National Institute of Statistics calculates this by dividing the total number of unemployed persons by the sum of employed and unemployed persons in the labor force, then multiplying the result by 100.
