Iraq Gini Index
Iraq's gini index rose to 29.8 points in 2023, up from 29.5 points in 2012, according to World Bank. This represents an increase of 1% (0.3) from the previous year. Iraq has gini index lower than the global median (29.80 points vs median 34.60 points). Compared with the median in Asia, Iraq is lower (29.80 points vs regional median 33.15 points) and ranks 21st out of 30 countries in Asia. Gini Index measures income or consumption inequality in Iraq for the reference period, scaled 0 to 100 where higher values indicate greater inequality.
Iraq's poverty rate fell to 0.5% in 2023, down from 0.6% in 2012.
