Iraq Poverty Rate

Iraq's poverty rate fell to 0.5% in 2023, down from 0.6% in 2012, according to World Bank. This represents a decrease of 0.1% from the previous year. Iraq has poverty rate lower than the global median (0.50% vs median 1.90%). Compared with the median in Asia, Iraq is lower (0.50% vs regional median 2.00%) and ranks 20th out of 30 countries in Asia.

Iraq's annual unemployment rate rose to 15.52% in 2024, up from 15.45% in 2023.
