Mauritius Poverty Rate

Mauritius' poverty rate fell to 0.5% in 2017, down from 1.1% in 2012, according to World Bank. This represents a decrease of 0.6% from the previous year. Mauritius has poverty rate lower than the global median (0.50% vs median 1.90%). Compared with the median in Africa, Mauritius is lower (0.50% vs regional median 37.35%) and ranks 36th out of 36 countries in Africa.

Mauritius' annual unemployment rate fell to 5.48% in 2024, down from 5.57% in 2023.
