Myanmar Interest Rate
Myanmar's benchmark interest rate held at 9% in August 2025, unchanged from July 2025. This stable rate supports economic growth amid an expected 2.5% GDP contraction for FY2025/26. The Central Bank of Myanmar maintained this policy originally revised in August 2024, to combat inflation projected at 29.3% for 2025. The kyat has stabilized against the US dollar as a result. Myanmar's record low interest rate was 7% on April 27, 2020 and record high was 10% on September 30, 2015.
