Myanmar Poverty Rate

Myanmar's poverty rate fell to 10.3% in 2017, down from 18.2% in 2015, according to World Bank. This represents a decrease of 7.9% from the previous year. Myanmar has poverty rate higher than the global median (10.30% vs median 1.90%). Compared with the median in Asia, Myanmar is higher (10.30% vs regional median 2.00%) and ranks 4th out of 30 countries in Asia.

Myanmar's annual unemployment rate was 3.03% in 2024, unchanged from 2023.
