Nepal Poverty Rate

Nepal's poverty rate fell to 2.4% in 2022, down from 21.5% in 2010, according to World Bank. This represents a decrease of 19.1% from the previous year. Nepal has poverty rate higher than the global median (2.40% vs median 1.90%). Compared with the median in Asia, Nepal is higher (2.40% vs regional median 2.00%) and ranks 14th out of 30 countries in Asia.

Nepal's annual unemployment rate rose to 10.71% in 2024, up from 10.63% in 2023.
