Switzerland Core Inflation Rate
Switzerland's core inflation rate held steady at 0.7% in September 2025, the same as in August 2025. This stability is supported by the Swiss National Bank's (SNB) monetary policy which maintains a zero key interest rate. The SNB expects inflation to gradually reaccelerate in the medium term, projecting an annual average of 0.7% for 2027. Stable domestic demand is bolstering private consumption. However, risks to the economic outlook include global economic slowdowns and trade policy uncertainties such as US tariffs. The SNB's readiness to intervene in foreign exchange markets also affects inflation. Switzerland's record low core inflation rate was -1.2% in December 2011 and record high was 2.4% in February 2023.
