Ethiopia Inflation Rate MoM
Ethiopia's Month-over-Month inflation rate reached 2% in September 2025. This is the highest rate since March 2025. The August 2025 rate was 1.1%. Food prices rose by 1.9% MoM with notable increases in meat, beverages and coffee. Non-food inflation also increased by 2% MoM, driven by higher costs for hotels, restaurants, health services and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels. The depreciation of the Ethiopian Birr further pressured prices for imported goods. Ethiopia's record low Inflation Rate MoM was -2% in November 2015 and record high was 6.9% in June 2021.

It is calculated by comparing the current month's CPI figure to the previous month's CPI figure. This indicates the rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is changing month-to-month.
