Greece Unemployment Rate
Greece's unemployment rate decreased to 8.1% in August 2025 from 8.3% in July 2025. This is the lowest rate in three months. The decline resulted from 11,542 fewer unemployed persons. Employment increased by 79,288 persons year-over-year in August. Youth unemployment, aged 15-24, rose to 19.0% in August 2025, up from 17.2% in August 2024. Greece's record low unemployment rate was 7.9% in May 2025 and record high was 24.9% in June 2015.

The Greece unemployment rate, measured monthly, is the percentage of the Greek labor force actively seeking work but unable to find it. ELSTAT calculates it by dividing the number of unemployed persons by the total labor force which includes both employed and unemployed individuals.
