Hong Kong GDP Growth Rate (YoY)

Hong Kong's GDP annual growth rate increased to 3.1% in Q2 2025, up from 3.0% in Q1 2025. This marks the highest growth since Q4 2023. Strong exports of goods, up 11.5% and services, up 7.5%, fueled this expansion. Private consumption rebounded by 1.9% and investment expenditure rose by 2.8%. Hong Kong's record low GDP annual growth rate was -9.4% in Q1 2020 and record high was 8.2% in Q1 2021.

Hong Kong's GDP annual growth rate tracks the percentage change in the city's total economic output from one year to the next, measured quarterly. The calculation compares the latest quarter's Gross Domestic Product value in Hong Kong Dollars against the value from the same quarter in the prior year. GDP sums private consumption, gross capital formation, government spending and net exports.
