India Unemployment Rate

India's unemployment rate rose to 5.2% in September 2025, up from 5.1% in August 2025. The labour force participation rate increased to 55.3% in September 2025, marking the third consecutive monthly rise. Female labour force participation reached 34.1% in September 2025, its highest since May 2025. India's record low unemployment rate was 5.1% in April 2025 and record high was 20.8% in June 2020.
