Japan Visitor Arrivals

Japan's visitor arrivals fell to 4.12 million in 2020, down from 31.88 million in 2019, according to World Bank. This represents a decrease of 87.1% (27.77 million) from the previous year. Japan has visitor arrivals higher than the global median (4.12 million vs median 1.02 million). Compared with the median in Asia, Japan is higher (4.12 million vs regional median 1.73 million) and ranks 11th out of 42 countries in Asia.

Japan's travel earnings fell to $11.39 billion in 2020, down from $49.21 billion in 2019.
