This represents a decrease of 0.4% ($282.54 million) from the previous year and accounts for 0.07% of the world's total GDP. Tanzania has GDP higher than the global median ($78.78 billion vs median $35.85 billion). Compared with the median in Africa, Tanzania is higher ($78.78 billion vs regional median $20.75 billion) and ranks 11th out of 52 countries in Africa.

Tanzania's GDP per capita rose to $1,120.77 in 2024, up from $1,092.86 in 2023.
