Turkey Unemployment Rate
Turkey's unemployment rate rose to 8.5% in August 2025, reaching a four-month peak. This is an increase from 8.1% in July 2025. The number of unemployed individuals grew by 168,000 to 3.04 million. Employment increased by 208,000 to 32.83 million. The employment rate reached 49.4%. Labor force participation advanced to 54.0% from 53.4%. Youth unemployment for ages 15-24, increased to 16.0% from 15.2%. Turkey's record low unemployment rate was 8.0% in July 2012 and record high was 14.1% in August 2019.
