Canada Services PMI

Canada's Services PMI fell to 46.3 in September 2025, a three-month low. This is a 4.7% decrease from August's 48.6. The decline stems from reduced new business, especially exports and fewer outstanding orders. The manufacturing sector also contracted further in September. Ongoing trade policy uncertainty particularly U.S. tariffs, weighs on Canadian businesses, reducing manufacturing orders and employment. Despite these challenges, business leaders' optimism for future activity is at an 11-month high. Canada's record low Services PMI was 41.2 in March 2025 and record high was 51.3 in April 2023.
