Chile Unemployment Rate
Chile's unemployment rate fell to 8.6% in August 2025, down from 8.7% in July 2025. This is the lowest rate recorded since February 2025. The decline was driven by a recovery in self-employment, especially in commerce and professional activities which added 27,000 own-account jobs. Manufacturing also added 34,000 private salaried positions quarterly. These job gains exceeded modest labor force growth, reducing the unemployment rate. Chile's record low unemployment rate was 5.87% in December 2015 and record high was 13.09% in July 2020.
