The euro area Business Climate Indicator fell to -0.76 points in September 2025. This is the lowest level in three months and a 5.6% decrease from -0.72 points in August 2025. The decline stems from weaker foreign demand and declining export orders due to higher US tariffs. Manufacturing sentiment weakened with the manufacturing PMI falling and new orders remaining flat. The euro area's record low Business Climate Indicator was -2.74 points in May 2020 and the record high was 1.9 points in February 2022.
