Euro area consumer confidence was -14.2 in October 2025. This is the highest level since February 2025. Confidence was -14.9 in September 2025. This represents a 4.7% increase from the previous month. Lower borrowing costs and easing inflation contributed to this rise. Consumers are less pessimistic about their finances and plan more major purchases. Euro area's record low consumer confidence was -28.7 in September 2022 and record high was -2.1 in June 2021.

Euro Area consumer confidence measures how optimistic consumers feel about their personal finances and the overall economy. Eurostat derives it from surveys asking about financial expectations, spending and savings. The result is a balance score in points, where negative readings signal pessimism.
