Hungary Unemployment Rate
Hungary's unemployment rate rose to 4.5% in September 2025. This is up from 4.4% in August and represents a three-month high. The increase occurred alongside a 7% year-on-year investment decline in the second quarter of 2025. Labor force participation fell by 27,000 individuals annually between May and July 2025. Employment also decreased year-on-year with manufacturing and construction sectors showing notable losses as of June 2025. Hungary's record low unemployment rate was 3.1% in December 2019 and record high was 6.6% in July 2015.

Hungary Unemployment Rate : Definition
The Hungary unemployment rate shows the jobless share of the Hungarian labor force. It is calculated monthly by dividing the number of unemployed persons (those without work but actively seeking and available for it) by the total labor force (employed plus unemployed), expressed as a percentage. Data comes from household surveys.
