Mexico Manufacturing PMI
Mexico's Manufacturing PMI fell to 49.6 in September 2025 from 50.2 in August, a 1.2% decrease. This contraction stemmed from a slowdown in new export orders due to weaker U.S. demand and ongoing U.S. tariff impacts. Despite overall manufacturing output contracting, electronic equipment manufacturing grew 4.2% year-over-year in May 2025. Increased input costs continue to pressure manufacturers. Mexico's record low Manufacturing PMI was 44.8 in April 2025 and record high was 53.2 in July 2023.

Mexico Manufacturing PMI : Definition
The Mexico Manufacturing PMI from S&P Global measures the economic health of Mexico's manufacturing sector. It is calculated using survey responses from purchasing managers in approximately 300 manufacturing firms. The index is a weighted average of five key sub-components: new orders, production, employment, supplier delivery times and stocks of purchases. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the manufacturing sector while a reading below 50 signals contraction.
