Taiwan's house price index fell to 164.39 points in Q2 2025, a 2.4% decrease from Q1 2025. This marks the lowest level since Q1 2024. Tighter credit conditions and higher mortgage rates reduced buyer demand. Property transaction volumes dropped by 36% year-on-year in May 2025. Economic uncertainty and geopolitical factors also contributed to cautious market sentiment. Taiwan's record low house price index was 35.15 points on Q4 2001 and record high was 169.46 points on Q4 2024.
