Argentina's retail sales increased by 25.1% year-over-year in August 2025. This is an acceleration from the 19.6% rise seen in July 2025. This growth is due to significantly lower inflation. Monthly inflation rates stayed below 2% in July and August 2025. This is the lowest in years. Consumer purchasing power improved as a result. The year-on-year inflation rate fell to 33.6% in August 2025 from 236.7% a year earlier. Argentina's record low retail sales YoY was -96.8% in April 2020 and record high was 3,762.9% in April 2021.
