Indonesia Retail Sales YoY
Indonesia's retail sales year-on-year (YoY) slowed to 3.5% in August 2025 from 4.7% in July 2025. This deceleration was driven by weaker sales in food, beverages and tobacco and IT products. Consumer confidence also dropped to 117.2 in August from 118.1 in July, reaching its lowest point this year due to declines in several sub-indices. Inflation eased to 2.31% in August from 2.37% in July, remaining within Bank Indonesia's target range, though food prices increased at a faster pace. Indonesia's record low retail sales YoY was -20.6% in May 2020 and record high was 22.3% in June 2015.
