Slovakia Retail Sales YoY
Slovakia's retail sales year-on-year decreased by 0.7% in August 2025. This is the lowest figure in three months, down from 0.4% growth in July 2025. The decline was driven by a 12.5% drop in e-shop and mail order turnover and a 14.7% fall in food and tobacco store sales. Hyper- and supermarket sales accelerated by 4.4%. Persistent inflation of 4.2% in August 2025 impacted consumer spending. Consumer sentiment showed a slight improvement in September 2025 but remained low. Slovakia's record low retail sales yoy was -18.2% in January 2021 and record high was 19% in January 2022.
