Sri Lanka's Housing Construction Costs Index hit an all-time low of 71.1 points in Q2 2025. This marks a 0.1% decrease from 71.2 points in Q1 2025. The decline is due to lower prices for construction materials. Cement averaged Rs. 1,850 per 50kg bag and steel rods ranged from Rs. 320-380 per kg. This cost reduction happened during sector expansion with stable prices and favorable conditions.
