Sri Lanka Services PMI
Sri Lanka's Services PMI fell to 58.7 in September 2025, down 14.8% from 68.9 in August. This marks the lowest reading in four months. While tourist arrivals increased by 30% in September, tourism revenue grew by only 1%. This suggests a moderating growth factor for the services sector. Sri Lanka's record low Services PMI was 29.8 in April 2020 and record high was 71.1 in July 2024.

Sri Lanka Services PMI : Definition
The Sri Lanka Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) gauges the economic health of the services sector. It is calculated using survey data covering new orders, business activity, employment, suppliers' delivery times and inventories. A reading above 50 shows sector expansion while a reading below 50 indicates contraction. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka produces this index.
