Brazil Core Inflation Rate
Brazil's core inflation rate rose to 5.12% in August 2025, up from 5.06% in July 2025. This rise resulted from increased sector-specific pressures. Housing costs decreased by 0.90% in August, a reversal from a 0.91% increase in July. Transportation costs also fell, dropping from a 0.35% increase to a 0.27% increase. Food and beverage prices declined further, moving from -0.27% to -0.46%. Health and personal care prices increased by 0.54% from 0.45% and education prices rose to 0.75% from 0.02%. Electricity prices dropped by 4.21%. Brazil's record low core inflation rate was 1.97% in August 2020 and record high was 10.5% in June 2022.
