Brazil Manufacturing PMI
Brazil's Manufacturing PMI decreased by 2.5% to 46.5 in September 2025, reaching its lowest level since April 2023. This contraction was caused by significant drops in new orders, output and input purchases which declined at the fastest rate since April 2023. International sales saw a slight reduction with US tariffs leading to cancellations, though demand from other countries provided some offset. Firms lowered output prices due to reduced input costs. Inventories contracted substantially. Brazil's record low Manufacturing PMI was 44.2 in December 2022 and record high was 55.9 in April 2024.

Brazil Manufacturing PMI : Definition
The Brazil Manufacturing PMI from S&P Global measures the economic health of Brazil's manufacturing sector. It is calculated using survey responses from purchasing managers across approximately 400 manufacturers. The index combines five key components: New Orders (30% weight), Production (25%), Employment (20%), Supplier Delivery Times (15%) and Stocks of Purchases (10%). A reading above 50 points indicates growth in manufacturing activity while a reading below 50 points signals contraction.
