Egypt Adult Literacy Rate

Egypt's adult literacy rate rose to 74.5% in 2022, up from 71% in 2017, according to World Bank. This represents an increase of 3.5% from the previous year. Egypt has adult literacy rate lower than the global median (74.50% vs median 93.38%). Compared with the median in Africa, Egypt is lower (74.50% vs regional median 75.02%) and ranks 26th out of 50 countries in Africa.
