Egypt Interest Rate
Egypt's key interest rate decreased to 21% in October 2025 from 22% in August 2025. This reduction followed a decline in annual headline inflation to 12.0% in August 2025 from 13.9% in July. Economic growth also supported this decision as real GDP expanded by 5.0% in the second quarter of 2025. Limited demand-side inflationary pressures contributed to the ongoing disinflation. Egypt's record low interest rate was 8.25% in November 2020 and record high was 27.25% in March 2024.
