France - Household Consumption MoM
France's household consumption grew by 0.1% month-over-month in August 2025. This followed a contraction of 0.3% in July 2025. The July contraction was driven by a drop in energy consumption. Spending on manufactured goods was stable in July while food consumption decreased slightly. France's record low household consumption month-over-month was -18.9% in April 2020 and record high was 37.6% in May 2020.

France Month-over-Month household consumption measures the monthly percentage change in spending by French households on goods and services. INSEE calculates this using a weighted index of consumption expenditure, covering items like food, energy, manufactured goods and services.
