Ireland Retail Sales MoM
Ireland's retail sales decreased by 1% month-on-month in August 2025. This is the lowest reading since August 2024. In July 2025, retail sales increased by 0.9%. The August decline was driven by a 1.4% drop in electrical goods sales. Persistent annual inflation of 5.1% for food and non-alcoholic beverages continued to reduce consumer spending power. Consumer sentiment rose to 61.1 in August 2025, up from July but remained below the long-term average and the 72.1 recorded in August 2024. Ireland's record low retail sales MoM was -38.2% in April 2020 and record high was 38.4% in June 2020.
