Australia New Home Sales
Australia private new home sales increased by 25.9% to 5,337 units in September 2025 from 4,239 units in August 2025. This is the highest volume since June 2022. The increase is due to policy changes including an August 2025 cash rate cut, removal of Lenders Mortgage Insurance and eased planning restrictions. Strong population growth and rising established home prices also boosted demand for new homes. The national housing market shows resilience with increasing dwelling values, supported by lower interest rates and tight supply. Australia's record low private new home sales was 3,004 units in January 2023 and record high was 13,527 units in December 2020.
