The annual inflation rate for September 2025 was 1.5%. Malaysia's record low Month-over-Month inflation was -2.7% in April 2020 and record high was 1.3% in February 2017.

Malaysia's Month-over-Month (mom) inflation rate measures the percentage change in the national price level from one month to the next. It is calculated using the Consumer Price Index (CPI) compiled by the Department of Statistics Malaysia. The calculation compares the current month's CPI figure to the prior month's CPI figure.
